Job description

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Avionics Installer.
Pay Rate: $25.66 to $33.81 per hour (depending on experience, location, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Contract Duration: 12 months (w/opportunity for extension)
Benefits:
  • coverage of up to one-half of employee's medical insurance premium for a base plan

  • opportunity to become a direct hire after ninety (90) days

Experience/Education:
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Experience requirement ranges from entry level to two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and two (2) years related work experience; or four (4) years of experience in an avionics/electronic career field.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.

Unique Skills:
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required.

Purpose:
Leads, supports, or assists in the removal/installation of avionics electrical components, fabrication of wire harnesses, installations, terminations, ring-out, and functional tests of avionics/electrical systems.
Level I Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in installations, modifications and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.

Level II Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in installations, modifications, and the fabrication of wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, and engineering drawings.

Level III Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Provides work direction to technicians. Ensures completion of tasks within allotted time frame. Coordinates with and assists other departments to ensure on-time delivery of aircraft.
  • Installs/modifies/fabricates wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, engineering drawings.
  • Trains other team members in associated work assignments. Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of employees and techniques. Completes work in innovative and effective ways
  • Assists Engineering in resolving problems and makes repairs per engineering direction.

Level IV Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Provides work direction to technicians. Ensures completion of tasks within allotted time frame. Coordinates with and assists other departments to ensure on-time delivery of aircraft.
  • Installs/modifies/fabricates wiring and electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment in accordance with blueprints, worksheets, engineering drawings.
  • Trains other team members in associated work assignments. Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute to the development of employees and techniques. Completes work in innovative and effective ways
  • Assists Engineering in resolving problems and makes repairs per engineering direction.

Other Requirements:
  • Assists with the completion of tasks within allotted time frame.
  • Assists with maintaining required logs and records.
  • Complies with the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program and all safety regulations.
  • Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Policies and Procedures manual, Inspection Procedures manual, and pertinent Process Specifications.
  • Possess the proven ability to move to new tasks with only a minimal, short-term impact to established goal hours and schedule.
  • Strong written and verbal skills required.
  • Computer skills and general software knowledge necessary.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
