Job description

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.

GMC has an opening for an entry to mid-level CAD Technician that focuses on land development to support our team in our Cartersville, GA office. This role requires and understanding of AutoCAD software and basic knowledge of Civil-3D. Your attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to multitask will contribute to the success of our recruitment efforts.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Acquires thorough understanding of CADD software
  • Develops broad knowledge of the design process and understands company standards
  • Develops skills in a specific practice area
  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standards techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with a few complex features
  • Performs more advanced drafting tasks
  • Demonstrates the ability to integrate multiple components of design (i.e. structural, civil, electrical, etc.)
  • Coordinates work with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff
  • Coordinate tasks with survey department and field personnel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Proven experience with AutoCAD, including proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
