Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for providing entry level design and drafting support to Design Services. Opportunity to learn basic 3D piping and plant design for career advancement is available.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  1. Complete assigned projects on-time and accurately; follow directions, scope and procedures provided by supervising team member and/or managers.
  1. Perform general arrangement, site layout, and civil/structural drafting assignments utilizing AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing techniques
  1. With training, read and interpret engineering drawings, drawing scales, and specifications.
  1. Follow established standards, format and procedures to create, update, revise and modify drawings.
  1. Utilize sketches, notes, and other input material to generate drawings.
  1. Identify and report changes and errors to supervising team member.
  1. Responsible for accuracy, attention to detail, and the quality of the work produced while following methods of continuous improvement.

Education/Certification:

  • Technical/Vocational degree preferred

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • 0-2 years of design experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office and AutoCAD (v.2020 or newer) 2D drafting skills are required, with 3D ability preferred
  • Basic geometric, and trigonometric skills required

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Travel required as necessary to acquire field measurements and understand drafting scope required for projects. Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
