SUMMARY

Come help us build rockets. This is an entry-level Composite Technician position where we provide training, outstanding benefits, and opportunities for strong career progression. No previous composites experience is required. Composite Technicians manufacture production and development primary structures, tanks, and secondary structures from raw fiber through delivery to the integration line. The Alpha vehicle is the only American all-composite rocket, and composites fundamentally set Firefly apart from competitors. Location: Briggs, TX (north of Cedar Park). This role is for second shift and does have an premium incentive for the role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cut carbon and other composite materials using hand tools to high tolerance
  • Assist with bonding operations (abrade, clean, adhesive preparation)
  • Support hand lamination of carbon, glass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and core materials
  • Assist with vacuum bagging and cure cycle preparation
  • Monitor oven runs under supervision
  • Cure materials per manufacturer specifications
  • Maintain material handling compliance pursuant to AS9100
  • Read and follow work instructions and assembly prints
  • Maintain shop organization and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to work 2nd Shift Thursday-Saturday 4pm-430am and every other Wednesday 4pm-430am.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 0+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to drill and lay out precision holes
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
