Job Summary

Our client is seeking a motivated, hands-on Lead Installer to join its growing construction team serving the Washington DC-Baltimore metropolitan area. This position is ideal for an experienced construction professional or an ambitious recent graduate from a trade school or construction-related program who is eager to develop into a leadership role.

The Lead Installer will work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate and execute commercial installation projects from start to finish. Initially, this role involves assisting with field installations, project coordination, and day-to-day construction activities while receiving hands-on training. As experience grows, the successful candidate will transition into leading installation crews, coordinating job site activities, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to project specifications.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth into project supervision and construction management while working on commercial installation projects throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Field Operations

  • Perform commercial equipment and system installations according to project specifications and manufacturer requirements.

  • Assist the Project Manager with daily job site operations and project execution.

  • Lead installation crews on assigned commercial projects after completing training.

  • Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and installation manuals.

  • Verify measurements, layouts, and installation locations prior to beginning work.

  • Assemble, install, and secure commercial equipment using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Maintain high-quality workmanship while ensuring projects meet customer expectations.

  • Troubleshoot installation issues and recommend practical solutions.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.

Project Coordination

  • Support project scheduling and daily work planning.

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and customers.

  • Track installation progress and report project updates.

  • Verify materials, tools, and equipment are available before beginning work.

  • Identify potential project delays and communicate issues proactively.

  • Assist with project closeout activities and punch list completion.

  • Ensure projects are completed within established schedules and budgets.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Supervise installation crews on assigned projects.

  • Provide direction and guidance to field personnel.

  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, and accountability.

  • Train and mentor new installers and laborers.

  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and safety procedures.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

Construction Documentation

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and installation instructions.

  • Answer installation-related questions using project documentation.

  • Document field changes and communicate updates to the Project Manager.

  • Assist with maintaining project records and daily field reports.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

  • Maintain safe work practices at all times.

  • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Report safety concerns and job site hazards immediately.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Construction, installation, labor, superintendent, or related field experience preferred.

  • Recent graduates from construction, trade school, vocational, or technical programs are encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

  • Assertive, self-motivated, and eager to learn.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
