Job description

Job Title:Entry Level OperatorSummary:Duties of the Chemical Operator position include the operation of manufacturing process equipment, packaging finished products and general labor throughout the facility. This position assists operators and crafts as necessary and assigned, with increasing responsibility for operations and product quality.
This is a Union Non-Exempt position. The starting pay rate for this role is $27.22 per hour, plus eligible shift differential pay.Responsibilities Include:
  • Area-specific task requirementsas outlined on the job/task qualification documents.

  • Work/train anywhere in theareaoperation as assigned, including assisting with production.

  • Properly fill, label, and position all hazardous and non-hazardous waste inidentifiedstorage/pickup areas.

  • Perform housekeeping to ensure area safety andmaintainaudit-readycondition.

  • Complete equipmentclean-outs/turnaroundsasrequiredto ensure proper operation.

  • Follow all standard operation and business procedures, safety, environmental, and quality guidelines, plant standards, and codes of conduct.

  • Communicate with area Leadershipregardingany production, product quality, or safety issues as they arise.

  • Participate in area and business improvement activities, quality, mechanical integrity, and environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities.

  • Knowledgeable ofOSHA standards and safe work practices.

  • Attend leadership and skills trainingcourses asoffered.

  • Demonstratedability to drive a forklift truck.

  • Properlyoperateall equipment according to batch sheets, Part V procedures, SOP's, EngineeringNoteand/or Manufacturing Instructions

  • Properly process all batch sheets to allow for on-time production, qualitychecksandaccurateinventory.

  • Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, snow removal, LOTO activities, and reviewing night notes.

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least a two-year degree from an accredited college/university in a related field or a high school diploma/GED with at least two years of chemical industry experience and/or experience in other manufacturing,warehousingor industrial environments

  • Ability to work continuous shift that requires nights, weekends, andholidays

  • Mustpossessa valid driver'slicense

  • Must be 18 years of age orolder

  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

  • Must be willing tosubmitto a pre-employment drug test, physical, and backgroundinvestigation

  • Employees must meet respiratory protection program requirements applicable toarea to beeligible for consideration.

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodation.

  • Must have the assets needed to become OSHA certified on the job as required by OSHA 1910.119
