Job description

Location: Henderson, NC
Salary: Based On Experience

Shift: 1st shift Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
As a Manufacturing Laser Operator at MGM Products Inc., you will be required to lift/push/pull 5x10 sheets of metal, average of 160 lbs. You will be responsible for operating the CNC machine for a variety of parts from small to large. You will need to learn the proper techniques to ensure safe operations. Read and understand the cut sheets, stack, and label parts accordingly. A schedule will be provided each day, and it will be up to the operator to run the orders in the most efficient manner. We are looking for people with an eye for detail and quality minded. This position will also be responsible for operating our Cut-to-length line. The coil line is where our process starts.
Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Sets up and operates equipment to cut parts of sheet metal according to blueprints or product specifications.
  • Reads prints, work orders, or production schedules to determine specifications, such as quantity, dimensions, and/or tolerances.
  • Performs periodic checks on output; measures completed parts to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Uses measuring instruments at 100% accuracy.
  • Maintains high level of productivity and produces quality parts. Performance measured by meeting and exceeding daily productivity goals.
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance and cleaning tasks to maintain equipment performance and prevent machine downtime.
  • Forklift operation: experience is preferred but not required.
  • Coil line: load coils of metal and cut to the desired measurement before taking over to the laser.
  • Trouble shooting ability; ability to learn and understand the machine and help trouble shoot when issues arise.
