Job description

Description:

To write code to automate the CNC machines with the appropriate program, to make adjustments to the program to meet the required specifications according to the blueprints and/or design drawings. Often these adjustments are for new parts and/or prototype parts.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Input code design specifications for the machine to cut and trim parts to specific requirements

· Making adjustments to machines to change the cutting pathways

· Determine the sequence of operation to program

· Make adjustments to improve the set up and cycle time of part being made

· Monitor programs to ensure they follow blueprint instructions to complete the part successfully

· Check accuracy of program by running simulations and tests

· Troubleshoot issues throughout the process

· Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures

· Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations

· Other duties may be assigned as necessary


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Leads by example and motivates people so as to create a challenging, empowering and collaborative working environment

· Strong attention to detail

· Strong problem solving skills

· Proficient understanding of computers and computer systems

· Strong understanding of how CNC machines work, preferably routing CNC machines

· An aptitude for mathematics and engineering concepts


Education and/or Work Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent and some college course work or Technical/ Vocation school in Machining, CNC programming or similar.

Previous experience in manufacturing in the plastics, wood, or metal industry is preferred


Physical Requirements:

This position requires the employee to stand, walk, bend, stoop. This employee will be consistently using their hands and fingers while working. There are times when this employee may need to lift heavy weights up to 50 pounds. . This position also requires the employee to use a numerical controlled computer. They will also use other kinds of calculating and measuring tools such as calipers.


Work Environment:

The work setting of this manufacturing facility provides adequate lighting, noise levels will be moving between moderate to high noise levels. Required Personal Protection Equipment includes Safety Glasses and Hearing Protection for any person in the production area. Additional PPE may be required, i.e. gloves, face masks, face shields, dependent on the specific job being performed and company safety rules and regulations. Because of the nature of this business, the temperature in the production facility can be very hot during the warmer times of the year.
