Job description

What You Will Do:
Medical Technologists or Medical Laboratory Scientists perform moderate to high complexity testing within the Clinical Laboratory. The role prepares samples for examination using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation. MT/MLS perform numerous complicated tests simultaneously and accurately evaluate, correlate and interpret test results.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent degree with required numbers of science credit hours, internship program and certification or Associates degree in Medical Lab Tech
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC). Certification needs to be obtained within 6 months, or
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist with ASCPi (International) certification meeting United States qualifications who is eligible to convert to ASCP through Board of Certification (BOC) if all other requirements are deemed met by BOC. ASCP certification must be obtained within 6 months.
  • Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Certification needs to be obtained within 6 months.
  • Under approved circumstances, an extension may be granted for an additional 6 months.
