Your Opportunity + Impact

The Engineer is an entry-level position responsible for providing technical support and design assistance in the planning, analysis, and execution of engineering projects. Working under the guidance of senior staff, the Engineer contributes to site development, utility design, permitting, and construction-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of engineering designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of civil infrastructure and land development projects.
• Perform calculations for water and wastewater systems, and roadway.
• Support the development of technical reports, permit applications, and construction documentation.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other design software to produce construction plans and exhibits.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits under supervision to collect data, observe conditions, or support construction administration.
• Participate in meetings with project teams, clients, or regulatory agencies as needed.
• Maintain organized project documentation and follow established QA/QC procedures.
• Support coordination between engineering, surveying, GIS, and administrative staff.
• Demonstrate initiative in learning company processes and advancing technical skills. Develop knowledge and experience of permitting and regulatory requirements in PA, including PADEP Clean Water Program and Public Water Supply Program.
• Develop knowledge in wastewater collection and treatment, water treatment and distribution, Act 537 planning, Water Quality Management permitting, Public Water Supply permitting.
• Maintain organized project records, including digital and hardcopy files.
• Adhere to company safety protocols and quality assurance/quality control procedures.
• Foster a team-oriented environment and uphold the company’s brand values. • Work towards obtaining professional certifications in fields of expertise, as needed.

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field of study.
• Licensure: Work towards Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate in Pennsylvania and PADEP water and/or wastewater operator’s license
• Experience: Recent graduate up to four (4) year’s job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding of engineering principles and the desire to develop expertise in civil design and land development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or ArcGIS preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to interpret and explain technical regulations and communicate effectively with the public. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
• Ability to self-mange workload and priorities in response to changing project requirements and schedules.
• Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Vehicle: Due to the need for occasional travel, a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
