Who We're Looking For:

This pivotal role is located within our fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment at TSMC WA, offering a dynamic range of technical challenges and opportunities for significant impact.

 Responsibilities include but not limited to: 

As an Entry-Level Equipment Engineer, you will be an integral part of one of our specialized equipment engineering teams (e.g., Lithography, Etch, Diffusion, Implanter, Chemical Mechanical Polishing, or Thin Films). Your responsibilities will include:  

  • Learning and Application: Develop a foundational understanding of semiconductor equipment design and operation to support and enhance tool availability.
  • Equipment Support: Assist in maintaining equipment stability and contribute to improvement initiatives through logical problem-solving.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work within a dynamic, 24/7 manufacturing environment, collaborating with experienced engineers and technicians.

Requirements: 

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific field such as Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Optics.
  • Technical Aptitude: A strong interest in technology and a basic understanding of IC processing equipment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Eagerness to learn and apply logical problem-solving techniques to improve equipment performance.
  • Communication: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, supporting both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foundational Knowledge (Preferred, not required): Basic familiarity with concepts like Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) is a plus.
  • Hands-on Approach: Willingness to engage in a hands-on fab working environment and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership for tasks.

Physical Requirement:

  • Ability to spend majority of shift on feet, both walking and standing, with occasional sitting.
  • Frequent coordinated use of hands.

  • Pushing or pulling 66 pounds.
  • Occasionally reach, bend forward while standing, or squat.

Work Location & Schedule:

This position operates on-site at our Camas, Washington location during core business hours, Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm; however, there may be occasions when additional hours are necessary to meet project demands.

Pay Transparency & Other Compensation:

At TSMC, your base pay is just one component of your comprehensive compensation package. For new hires in this position, the starting salary typically ranges between $87,000 and $106,764 per year. The full salary range for this Job Grade extends from $87,000 - $115,580 depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, education, experience, tenure, and position level. TSMC's total compensation package also includes market-competitive pay, profit sharing and incentive bonuses, and tuition assistance.

* This position is also eligible for a Sign-On Bonus depending on various factors.

* This position is also eligible for a Relocation Bonus depending on various factors.
