Job Requirements
  • Active RN license in New Mexico (NM) or Compact RN license accepted; pending licenses accepted but must be obtained prior to start
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) RN experience in an acute care or inpatient setting
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred
  • Ability to float to similar units as needed and work independently as a travel nurse
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical-surgical unit
  • Manage nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6 in an inpatient Med/Surg environment
  • Administer medications and blood products; manage central and peripheral IV lines
  • Perform wound care, surgical drain management, and feeding tube care
  • Respond to rapid response team activations and collaborate in emergency situations
  • Document patient care accurately using the Epic charting system (EHR)
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy (PT), respiratory therapy (RT), pharmacy, and social services
  • Float to like units within scope of practice as required to support patient care and unit staffing
