Base Salary Range: $64,000 - $68,000 plus benefits

FTE: Full-time, Non-Exempt

General Summary:  The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) functions under the direct supervision of the Clinical Director. The LVN provides nursing care to patients of all ages; from pediatric to geriatric, within the LVN’s scope of practices. The ideal candidate will have to perform some of the following essential duties

  • Assess and evaluates patient’s level of understanding of disease process and medical regiment 
  • Assists in developing and monitors clinic flow in collaboration with nursing staff  
  • Assists in the dispensary to serve as a liaison with providers and patients.
  • Uses and practices basic assessment, data collection, participates in planning, executes interventions in collaboration with Health Care Providers or as dictated by treatment plan
  • Documents patient’s care in accordance to the SCFHC’s policy
  • Directs/delegates patient care to Medical Assistants as directed by RN
  • Acts as a resource to resolve patient, family, and physician concerns
  • Calls patient for specific treatments/lab orders and orders laboratory work as directed by Provider
  • Provides preventive health care education and insulin teaching as well a dietary control
  • Attendance and punctuality is essential in order to provide quality of care to patients, face-to-face interaction with patients, and to work with provided healthcare equipment collected at clinics
  • Properly and effectively use relevant computer software applications and other technologies to augment support services and complete administrative duties. 
  • Prepare and review with team schedule and expectations.

Qualifications Licensure and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have minimum training from an LVN program.
  • Current and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
  • Current BLS Certification required

Experience: 

  • Must have 1 to 3 years of experience as an LVN. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safety, infection control & emergency policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work independently within scope of assigned task with minimum supervision
  •  Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in written

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer knowledge, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), communication systems and internet search capabilities 
  • Strong charting/documentation skills.
  • Natural at building relationships; empathetic, compassionate, trusting, flexible, good listeners and energetic. 
  • Excellent logical reasoning and judgment skills; must be detail-oriented and organized
  • Demonstrates initiative, exertion, drive, desire for self-improvement, and learning ability for advancement
  • Bilingual and Bi-literate Spanish/English required
