About the Role
As an Inside Sales Account Manager, you'll build your own book of business through cold calling, outbound prospecting, lead generation, and targeted outreach. This is a new business development role - not a warm-leads, order-taking, or account-maintenance position - with support from internal experts, vendor partners, and a broad technology solutions portfolio.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
  • Build and manage a book of business through cold calling, outbound prospecting, lead generation, and targeted outreach.
  • Engage decision-makers to uncover organizational needs, budget priorities, and sales opportunities.
  • Recommend technology solutions with support from vendor partners and internal experts.
  • Develop accounts and build trusted relationships with public sector, higher education, and K-12 customers.
  • Manage daily sales activity, account development, pipeline updates, and follow-up.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver quotes, pricing, and customer solutions aligned to account needs.

Training & Support
  • Paid onboarding: Learn Connection's business, public sector customers, sales expectations, hybrid work practices, and the Inside Sales Account Manager role.
  • Systems and process training: Learn sales processes, quoting tools, customer relationship tools, pipeline tracking, and account documentation.
  • Outbound sales practice: Build confidence with cold calling, prospecting, lead generation, discovery questions, follow-up, and account development.
  • Technology solutions training: Gain exposure to product categories, vendor solutions, customer needs, and consultative selling.
  • Ongoing coaching: Receive manager coaching, call feedback, role-play practice, activity reviews, and support with objection handling, pipeline management, and growing your book of business.
