The Associate Developer & Business Analyst serves as an entry-level technology professional responsible for supporting application development, business process analysis, and technology initiatives across the organization. This role combines foundational software development skills with business analysis capabilities to help deliver technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance user experience, and support strategic business objectives.

Working closely with Business Technology Partners, developers, infrastructure teams, Information Security, and business stakeholders, the Associate Developer & Business Analyst will assist with gathering requirements, documenting business processes, developing and testing solutions, supporting business applications, and participating in the full software development lifecycle.

Business Analysis & Requirements Support

  • Assist in gathering, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
  • Document business processes, workflows, use cases, and user stories to support technology initiatives.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and workshops to understand business challenges and identify potential technology solutions.
  • Analyze existing processes and recommend opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Support Business Technology Partners in translating business needs into actionable technical requirements.
  • Assist with solution evaluations, software assessments, and technology research.

Application Development & Technical Contributions

  • Support the development, configuration, customization, and enhancement of internal applications and business solutions.
  • Assist with coding, scripting, automation, and integration efforts under the guidance of senior developers and architects.
  • Participate in design discussions and provide input on technical approaches and solution options.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, data extracts, and workflow automations as needed.
  • Assist with software testing, quality assurance activities, and defect resolution.
  • Help maintain source code repositories, technical documentation, and development standards.
  • Learn and apply secure development practices aligned with organizational security requirements.

Application Support & Operations

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for assigned business applications.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and assist with root cause analysis and issue resolution.
  • Monitor application functionality and identify opportunities for performance improvements.
  • Support application upgrades, deployments, and release activities.
  • Maintain system documentation, knowledge articles, and support procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues when required.

Documentation, Reporting & Governance

  • Create and maintain business requirements documents, technical specifications, process maps, and user documentation.
  • Support project documentation, status reporting, and project tracking activities.
  • Assist with governance, audit, compliance, and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure work products follow established IT standards, procedures, and documentation practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the IT organization.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Master of Science in Computer Science or related technical field preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in software development, business analysis, application support, or technology-related roles. Internships considered
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and software development fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exposure to one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts.
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other source control and project management platforms.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, or Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
  • Understanding of data modeling, databases, and reporting concepts.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and web technologies is a plus.
