Tool and Die Maker I

Location: Mendota Heights, MN

Department: Engineering

Reporting To: Tool & Die Manager

Type: Full-time

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

As a Tool and Die Maker I, youโ€™ll be hands-on in building, assembling, and maintaining stamping dies that keep our production running efficiently. Youโ€™ll operate manual machines, manufacture simple die components, and work with a skilled team to ensure our tooling meets the highest standards of quality and safety. This entry-level role is a great opportunity to grow your career in precision manufacturing.

A Day in the Life:

  • Safely operate manual machines (knee mill, surface grinder, lathe, drill press) to craft and refine tooling components
  • Manufacture and assemble simple die components, grinding, polishing, and aligning for proper fit and function
  • Perform sharpening, repairs, and preventative maintenance on existing tooling
  • Inspect dies and components to confirm accuracy and conformance to specifications
  • Smooth and finish die parts for high-quality performance
  • Carry out shaping and forming operations to achieve precise part geometry
  • Collaborate with supervisors and designers on improvements and document changes
  • Follow all safety protocols and compliance standards
