Job description

Position Summary

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations through process optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, and engineering project execution. This role focuses on improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance while supporting manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and new product introductions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing environments, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for driving operational excellence through data-driven decision making and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and implement manufacturing process improvements focused on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Support machining and production operations through process optimization, tooling improvements, workflow enhancements, and documentation updates.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with equipment installations, tooling implementation, fixture design, and capital improvement projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and update process documentation, standard work instructions, manufacturing routings, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, engineering, and supply chain teams to achieve manufacturing objectives.
  • Support new product introductions, process validations, production readiness activities, PFMEA development, and launch execution.
  • Utilize CAD software and manufacturing technologies to support process development and operational improvements.
  • Monitor manufacturing performance metrics and recommend actions to improve productivity, quality, and equipment utilization.
  • Participate in project planning and execution while ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, process engineering, industrial engineering, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • 5+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting CNC machining operations and manufacturing process development.
  • Exposure to CAD/CAM software and CNC programming systems.
  • Experience with process validation, tooling optimization, and production launch activities.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA, process controls, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement or operational excellence initiatives.

Work Environment

  • Primarily based within a manufacturing facility with regular interaction on the production floor.
  • Combination of office and plant-floor responsibilities.
  • Exposure to machinery, production equipment, noise, and other typical manufacturing conditions.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated production areas.
  • Occasional travel between company facilities may be required based on business needs.
