Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling) to support manufacturing process optimization, fixture design, assembly operations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in shop floor manufacturing environments, fixture design, lean manufacturing, time studies, line balancing, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.
  • Create detailed 3D fixture models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings incorporating GD&T standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to validate fixture concepts, conduct trials, and resolve production issues.
  • Drive productivity, quality, and process capability improvements through effective tooling and fixture solutions.
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions, operator guidelines, and safety procedures.
  • Analyze assembly lines and manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Conduct time studies, elemental breakdowns, video-based process analysis, VA/NVA/RNVA assessments, and Muri analysis.
  • Perform line balancing and identify bottlenecks impacting productivity and throughput.
  • Develop Current State and Future State Value Stream Maps (VSM) and implement improvement roadmaps.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and provide Level 1, 2, and 3 recommendations for productivity enhancement.
  • Perform root cause analysis for quality issues, defects, downtime, and support corrective actions and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Support tooling and fixture design activities required for manufacturing operations.
Required Skills
  • Strong shop floor manufacturing experience (mandatory).
  • Expertise in Fixture Design & Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and GD&T.
  • Experience developing Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Hands-on experience with Time Studies, Line Balancing, and Productivity Analysis.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience supporting welding, assembly, and inspection processes.
