The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and highly organized Associate, Business Development (Institutional) to support both our business development and institutional client service functions. This is an entry-level role with a clear path to a broader capital-raising or client service capacity, suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced financial services environment and excels at keeping complex moving parts running smoothly.


You will work directly with senior business development and client service professionals, helping to manage internal processes, and supporting investor outreach, ongoing client servicing, CRM management, and marketing materials. This role presents a path to a business development or institutional client service role for the right candidate.


The expected annual base salary range for this role is $65,000 to $70,000, with final base salary determined based on experience, skills, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for variable compensation,

You'll have the opportunity to learn and lead:


Coordination & Scheduling

  • Manage calendars and serve as the primary scheduling contact for investor meetings, roadshows, and BD reviews across time zones
  • Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and follow-up recaps; track action items across investor touchpoints


Conference Management

  • Own end-to-end conference coordination: registration, logistics, on-site scheduling, speaker submissions, panel participation, and booth arrangements
  • Identify and prioritize relevant conferences and events aligned with BD strategy; manage pre- and post-conference investor meeting scheduling and log outcomes in the CRM


Budget Management

  • Track the BD budget across conference fees, travel, marketing, and events; maintain spend trackers, report regularly to leadership, and flag variances


Investor Relations Support

  • Draft and distribute investor communications, newsletters, and fund updates; support new investor onboarding and manage ongoing communications
  • Coordinate RFP, DDQ, and ODD responses across investment, operations, compliance, and legal; maintain and update investor data rooms


Client Service & Reporting

  • Respond to recurring and ad hoc client requests (performance, attribution, exposure, capital activity) and coordinate deliverables - quarterly reports, capital statements, and custom reporting - against client deadlines
  • Support capital activity (subscriptions, redemptions, transfers), document management, audit confirmations, and compliance requests; maintain structured records of client interactions


CRM & Pipeline Management

  • Own day-to-day CRM hygiene, logging interactions, updating contacts, tracking pipeline stages and generate regular activity reports for leadership; identify process improvements to enhance data integrity


Sales & Business Development Support

  • Assist with prospecting, pitch deck preparation, and marketing collateral; execute campaigns and liaise with marketing to ensure content and visuals meet firm standards


What we're looking for

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services, asset management, or professional services; prior exposure to investor relations, fundraising, or institutional sales workflows is an asset
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with budget tracking, expense management, or vendor coordination
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Comfort producing accurate, client-facing data and coordinating with operations and middle office
  • Interest in sales, client engagement, and business development, with familiarity with hedge fund or alternative investment strategies preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across functions
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; progress toward or completion of the CFA or CAIA designation is an asset
  • French language proficiency is considered an asset
