Job description

Biomanufacturing Technician

Location: Memphis, TN 38118
Pay: $22.12/hour | W-2
Contract: 4+ months
Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts
Interview: 1-hour virtual interview

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Biomanufacturing Technician to support cellular product manufacturing operations in a regulated biotechnology environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate with an educational background in biology, biotechnology, life sciences, or a related scientific field who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in cell therapy and GMP manufacturing.

Please indicate your preferred shift at the top of your resume:

  • 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM

Final shift assignment will be determined by the hiring manager.

Training: Approximately 6–8 weeks on first shift.

Schedule

This position follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule:

  • 2 days on
  • 2 days off
  • 3 days on
  • 2 days off
  • 2 days on
  • 3 days off

The 3-day weekend rotation falls Friday–Sunday.

The schedule includes built-in overtime. Employees may work approximately 48 hours one week and 36 hours the following week (84 hours over a two-week period).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manufacturing activities related to the production, formulation, and banking of cellular products.
  • Work within GMP, GDP, and aseptic processing requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain qualifications required to perform aseptic manufacturing activities.
  • Participate in raw material preparation, cell culture, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Prepare GMP documentation under supervision, including:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Product specifications
    • Equipment specifications
    • Batch production records
  • Support validation activities related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Follow established cleanroom procedures and maintain appropriate cleanroom behaviors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of controlled manufacturing areas.
  • Follow safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while working with biological materials and medical equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–1 year of applicable experience in biotechnology, cell therapy, laboratory science, or a related field.
  • Ability to perform basic algebraic calculations and mathematical operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly regulated, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment that may involve hazardous materials and medical equipment, including exposure to blood, tissues, and needles.

Preferred

  • Associate degree or higher in a scientific field, such as Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Educational or hands-on experience in laboratory, biotechnology, cell culture, or life-science environments.

Candidates with less formal education and/or professional experience may be considered upon successful completion of the applicable internship program.
