How Will You Add Value
The Laboratory Technician I is an entry-level role in our Oligo Synthesis Team. This role is responsible for processing Oligo Synthesis orders for internal and external customers. The Laboratory Technician I will create synthesis runs, process oligo synthesis orders using liquid handlers and pipettes, perform QC workflows, and package orders for shipment to customers.
What You'll Do
  • Receive and sort incoming orders using established workflows
  • Independently operate laboratory equipment including but not limited to pipettes, automated liquid handlers, spectrophotometers, mass spectrometer and centrifuges.
  • Follow SOPs accurately and precisely
  • Follow safety procedures
  • Handle chemical reagents and glassware
  • Restock lab supplies
  • Prepare and package orders
  • Maintain the cleanliness of work area
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring
  • HS Diploma required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, etc) preferred
  • Experience in or desire to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. At least 6 months of work experience preferred.
  • Desire to learn new processes and support a growing team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Accurate record-keeping ability
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Previous experience using pipettes, liquid handling systems, UV spectrophotometer, and/or Mass Spectrometer preferred
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to read small fonts on sample tubes and documents
  • Reaching, lifting, bending, using a step stool and ladder
  • Extended periods of time standing or sitting, operating lab computers and equipment while wearing a lab coat, safety glasses, and gloves
  • Will be working in an area with hazardous chemicals
  • May have to use hand tools to adjust settings on instruments as needed
