Job description

JOB  DESCRIPTION POSITION:             SWING /RELIEF

OVERVIEW:          An entry-level position responsible for learning all aspects of the Delivery Service Department, including merchandiser and delivery            representative. This position reports directly to the Delivery Supervisor and Delivery Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete all deliveries as scheduled for assigned area in a timely manner
  • Learn various routes and the mechanics of route delivery
  • Understand and perform check-in and check-out procedures
  • Assume accountability for all equipment used on a specific route
  • Insure proper rotation of product in a timely manner with the color code system
  • Utilize and understand the product freshness guide, code dates and shelf life of all pertinent products
  • Knowledge of all pricing, promotions and company goals
  • Maintain package integrity and quality standards in the marketplace
  • Build, disassemble, and maintain and merchandise displays in various accounts
  • Responsible for adhering to accounting procedures including accountability for all money and invoices collected on assigned route as well as all inventory
  • Abide by local and state beverage laws
  • Adherence to safety rules, traffic laws and all company policies and procedures
  • Communicate daily with Delivery and Service Supervisors, Account managers, Sales Managers and retailers
  • Improve and build customer relationships at the retail level
  • Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities associated with the Merchandising and Delivery Representative positions– refer to job description for details
  • When merchandising, aside from the responsibilities listed above:
  • Merchandise products creatively and effectively to improve shelf and display positions
  • Maintain back room and back stock in a neat and orderly condition
  • Manage time effectively to route daily work needs
  • Submit completed and signed daily activity reports to supervisor
  • Utilize personal vehicle for business purposes required as a condition of employment
  • Any other task as requested by management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


• Physical ability to complete all job tasks—must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds with continuous lifting up to 162 pounds
• Complete all training required for the position
• Read, understand and comply with Suncoast Beverage Sales’ Policy Manual, Safety manual and Fleet manual
• Maintain insurability requirements as determined by Suncoast Beverage Sales
• Class “A” CDL driver’s license
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong communicative and customer service skills
• Self motivated with a strong work ethic
• Willingness to work until the entire job is done, including in adverse weather conditions
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays as the company dictates
• Must be able to present yourself in a professional manner at all times
