Job description

The Behavioral Health Support Specialist II is a mid-level therapeutic and engagement focused role on the Extended Acute Care unit. BHSS II staff support residents in achieving treatment goals, enhancing daily living and independent living skills, participating in therapeutic programming and preparing for successful reintegration into the community. This position emphasizes relational engagement, psychoeducation, recovery coaching and expanded responsibility within the therapeutic milieu.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to demonstrate professional boundaries, calmness under stress, and relational engagement skills.
  • Completion of BHSS I role or equivalent entry level behavioral health experience required.
  • Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Specialist, Community Health Worker (CHW).
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in Behavioral Health, Human Services, Residential Care, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, or Recovery Oriented setting preferred.
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification and Comprehensive Crisis Management certification within 6 months of start date in department/position
  • Position requires a valid PA Drivers License and MVR.
  • Strong trauma-informed relational engagement, consistently demonstrate emotional diffusion in a high stress environment
