Job Summary:
As a Bartender, you will play a vital role in supporting the Bar Manager in providing exceptional service to our guests. The Assistant Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, interacting with customers, taking orders, and ensuring the accuracy of transactions through the POS system. We are seeking individuals with a friendly and upbeat attitude, a commitment to quality, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes.
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and provide recommendations based on preferences.
  • Enter each order accurately into the POS system.
  • Uphold the company's core values and ensure optimum guest experience.
  • Accountable for maintaining quality, consistency, and sanitation standards as per company and state regulations.
  • Practice an ownership mentality with emphasis on motivation and teamwork.
  • Keep the bar area clean and tidy, including washing glasses and cleaning the bar top and surrounding areas.
  • Restock supplies during slow operational hours, including alcohol, ice, fruit, beer kegs, and beer cooler.
  • Accurately portion all orders to ensure low cost.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions, ensuring all orders are accounted for in the POS system.
  • Work with the management team to achieve year-over-year growth, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
  • Execute programs to lead to increased sales and profitability.
  • Understand all menu items and effectively upsell to guests.
  • Ensure safety by keeping areas free from hazards, addressing and correcting any practices that lower safety standards.
  • Avoid over-serving alcohol and check the ID of every patron to prevent serving minors.
  • Handle guest complaints and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Obtain TIPS Certification.

Qualifications:
  • Friendly, upbeat attitude.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty successfully.
  • Bar experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn all stations on the line.
  • Ability to follow drink recipes and maintain accurate pour sizes.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and handle guest complaints.
  • TIPS Certification.
  • Computer skills to operate the POS system.
  • Strong language skills for reading and interpreting business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Mathematical skills for calculating figures such as discount, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, cost, and tip share.
  • Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

  • Position requires consistent activity, such as walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekend nights.
