Position Summary

Financial Center Managers are responsible for overall operation of the branch office and driving growth of a Union Bank branch while facilitating career development of staff. The Financial Center Manager ensures that the branch is providing outstanding service to Union Bank customers, business partners and their employees, community organizations, and line of business partners. The Financial Center Manger will lead and coach a team that drives consultative sales discussions, memorable customer service experiences and operational excellence both in the branch and in the communities we serve. The Financial Center Manager will promote business growth through the development of deposits, assets, fee-based products and services, and the development and retention of new and existing consumer and business customers.


Essential Functions

Sales & Service

• Leverage available tools and technology to identify and present sales and service opportunities.

• Lead by example through the use of consultative sales practices to proactively identify and recommend products and services that align a current or prospective customers financial needs.

• Managing portfolio of high value consumer and business customer relationships.

• Leads the process of referring customers to other areas of the bank to meet customer needs, deepen relationships and build strong internal partnerships pursuant to Union Bank’s sales strategy.

• Lending. Approves and processes consumer loans within loan authority. Compile and analyze data for Consumer loan requests. Outline loan terms and conditions, and inform the borrowers of loan commitments. Collect the pertinent loan application information (application, copies of pay stubs, run a credit report) and other information as needed on loan applicants. Prepare

loan packages in accordance with banks standards.

• Responsible for managing the branch office deposit portfolio and assisting with the loan portfolio through referrals to Commercial, Treasury Management, Wealth Management, and Mortgage.

• Establishes and helps to attain internal performance objectives for branch office business volume, deposits and loan portfolios

• Develops relationships with customers and businesses, community and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business.

• Represents the financial institution to the community through good customer relations.

• Responsible for meeting specific goals to be able to meet annual budget.

• Handle customer problems and complaints; counsel customers with special needs or requests

• Participate in activities for generating new business such as sales calls and special events.


Operations

• Accountable for the compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations; and Union Bank policies and procedures. Recommend corrections when necessary.

• Interprets and administers bank policies and procedures relating to branch functions including completion of necessary compliance related training.

• Leads, coaches, evaluates, and impacts the overall management evaluation of operational and risk activities, and results for the Financial Center Manager role when opening accounts, loans and servicing customers.

• Direct and coordinate, through subordinate personnel, branch activities and functions, utilizing knowledge of established policies, procedures and practices.

• Consistently meet performance expectations related to internal and external audit, prepare and implement audit responses as necessary, conduct required monthly and quarterly audit functions within the branch appropriate to the Financial Center Manager position.


Leadership

• Overall branch oversight for sales, service and operations and performance of branch staff. Will

lead these efforts either independently or with the assistance of an Assistant Financial Center

Manager or Customer Service Manager.

• Lead team to provide excellent customer service with the ability to effectively resolve customer

issues.

• Responsible for sourcing, developing, coaching and leading a team that reinforces Union Banks

core values, business objectives and employee performance standards.

• Demonstrates and maintains a working knowledge of Union Bank’s products, services,

processes, and internal resources to stay informed, guide and lead the team.

Requirements:

Other Functions

• Other duties assigned from time to time by VP, Retail Banking and Deposit Operations or other members of Senior Leadership.

• Adhere to all bank policy and procedures as well as complying with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Familiar with and abides by all bank regulations including but not limited to BSA and OFAC.

• This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration

required for employment in this position.
