SUMMARY OVERVIEW
The Baggage Runner is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of passenger luggage throughout the airport environment. This position ensures baggage is properly routed between terminals, aircraft, and baggage claim areas while maintaining strict adherence to safety, security, and operational standards. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transport baggage safely and efficiently between aircraft, terminals, and baggage handling areas
  • Handle passenger luggage with care to prevent damage
  • Assist in loading and unloading baggage from aircraft in accordance with airline procedures
  • Operate baggage carts, tugs, and transport equipment safely and effectively
  • Verify baggage tags and ensure correct routing to appropriate flights
  • Assist in sorting and organizing baggage in the baggage claim and processing areas
  • Respond promptly and professionally to baggage-related passenger inquiries
  • Coordinate with baggage handling teams to ensure efficient workflow and on-time departures
  • Report baggage discrepancies, damage, or security concerns immediately
  • Adhere to all airport safety, security, and operational protocols
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in baggage handling areas
  • Assist in baggage scanning and security screening procedures as required
  • Support tracing and recovery efforts for lost, delayed, or misrouted baggage
  • Work in various weather conditions and adjust to operational schedule changes
  • Collaborate effectively with airline personnel and airport staff to ensure timely baggage delivery
  • Support and promote the company's Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses in accordance with SMS procedures
  • Exceed PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including use of tablets, computers, and mobile devices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers in person and electronically
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operational environment
