Job description

The Automotive Project Lead will be responsible for the integration, troubleshooting, and training of various automation technologies including autonomous vehicles. They will primarily aid or lead projects to implement automation technologies in the San Antonio, TX. This position will provide AMR/system integration and support at various locations within North America as needed. Overnight travel within North America is occasionally required for this position.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assist or lead in integrating AMR systems at various customer locations in North America.
• Primarily report to our primary customer location in the San Antonio, TX area.
• Occasionally report to customers in North America with overnight travel (especially while training in our technologies).
• Work extensively with software applications and web interfaces (primarily using a laptop PC) to configure, optimize, and troubleshoot our customer's AMR systems.
• Primarily, be physically present at customer sites such as manufacturing and warehouse facilities to observe and optimize AMR system performance, but occasionally work remotely (from home) to support our customers.
• Effectively communicate with customers and frequently prepare system technical reports and documentation.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Up to 35% overnight travel.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
• Trustworthy, reliable, and self-motivated to earn and maintain the respect of our customers.
• Comfortable with laptop PC, voltmeter, various small hand tools, and Microsoft applications.
• Working knowledge of automation technology is a plus (PLCs, Motors, Servos, Motor Controllers, Power Circuits, RFID, Encoders, Sensors, etc.).
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and mechanical design principles is A+.
• Logical and analytical thinking with a methodical approach to problem solving is essential to success in this role.
• Ability to advise, mentor, coach, teach, and effectively communicate with colleagues and customers.
• Must be willing to travel overnight up to 35%.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical Aptitude is an advantage.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
Education and Experience:
• An associate's/ bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two plus years of work experience.
• Experience in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated processes
Physical Requirements:
• The essential functions of this role regularly require the employee to sit; use their hands to grasp, handle, or feel objects; and to speak and hear effectively. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
