Job description

Salary: $36 to $43 per hour

BEI Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support audio/visual projects our Low Voltage division. This role will report to a General Manager with periodic travel to jobsites located throughout the Bay Area.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee and monitor jobsite production in conjunction with Project Managers
  • Coordinate and update project schedules and assists with job meetings
  • Organize, attend, and participate in client and customer meetings
  • Support Project Manager advanced administrative processes, including timecard processing
  • Create reporting for clients and customers
  • Coordinate subcontractor and divisional training
  • Participate in client driven trainings as needed
  • Evaluate, track, and update job schedules
  • Assist Project Manager in cost control and procurement of goods and services including bid solicitation and negotiation
  • Assist Foreman with facilitating RFIs and site documentation
  • Cooperating and communicating with Project Managers and other project participants
  • Collaborating with operational team members to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability
  • Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status
  • Creating frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Undertaking project tasks as required
  • Maintain a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Travel to jobsites as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of either A/V or construction-related experience is preferred
  • A four-year degree may be considered in place of job experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid CA Driver License and MVR that meets BEI driving standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, both written and verbal
