THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Associate Sales Producer is an entry-level position within HUB's structured Commercial Lines Producer Development Program. This role is designed for individuals seeking a long-term career in insurance sales by gaining exposure to the industry, supporting sales initiatives, and developing key skills through hands-on experience, structured training, and professional mentorship.

The anticipated maximum duration for the role is two years, aligning with the Producer Subsidy Program's validation period, ensuring sufficient time to develop core competencies, build a book of business, and participate in at least one full renewal cycle. From day one, the Associate Sales Producer is paired one-on-one with a senior sales professional through CNC's Internal Sales Mentorship Program - a 6-month formal engagement built around weekly meetings, structured goal-setting, and hands-on shadowing designed to accelerate growth and prepare the individual for long-term success as a Sales Producer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shadows and supports senior Producers in prospecting, client service, and policy management.
  • Participates in client meetings, presentations, and internal sales strategy sessions.
  • Partners with Producers to prepare quotes, proposals, and marketing materials to support new business development efforts.
  • Tracks and documents pipeline activity and sales efforts in CRM.
  • Researches insurance markets and carrier options for new business opportunities.
  • Participates in prospecting efforts, including research, lead generation, and outreach.
  • Participates in structured training programs, sales development workshops, and industry sessions.
  • Learns the core components of insurance products, sales strategy, and client relationship management.
  • Receives professional mentorship to build foundational sales and service skills, including weekly one-on-one sessions with an assigned mentor and periodic check-ins with their manager at kickoff, the 3-month mark, and program conclusion.
  • Supports service teams in basic policy administration tasks (e.g., certificates of insurance, endorsements).
  • Observes and learns the account management process, including risk and safety, claims management, renewals and client retention strategies; directly coordinates the delivery of client service needs are promptly and professionally delivered.
  • Collaborates with internal departments to support client deliverables.
  • Updates internal systems with accurate, timely information.
  • Proactively identifies and cultivates new client relationships through networking, referrals, and targeted prospecting efforts.
  • Presents HUB's value proposition in a clear, consultative manner during client and prospect meetings.
  • Seeks continued knowledge and stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact the development of new business or sales and marketing strategies.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

0-2 years of professional experience (insurance industry experience a plus but not required).

Property & Casualty license required, or willingness to obtain within the first 3 months of employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position primarily involves remaining in a stationary position for the majority of the workday.

The person in this position frequently communicates with colleagues and clients both in person and on the telephone; must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
