Responsibilities, Authorities and Accountabilities:

All job responsibilities are to be executed in harmony with our Quality Procedures, the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics and the Operating Principles which sets the standard by which we operate and how we treat others.

  • This position is responsible for the assembly of finished products, components, or sub-assemblies for oil and gas control valves, controllers, and chemical injection pumps
  • This position works under close supervision
  • Individual contributor
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are expected upon accepting this position
  • Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures required including steeled toed shoes, safety glasses and other Personal Protective Equipment that is required in certain areas of the facility.
  • Maintain high ethical standards

Essential Functions:

  • Read work instructions, work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, and/or receive verbal instructions regarding required duties
  • Interpret assembly instructions, drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications to build/test quality products
  • Assemble different parts of manufactured products using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment
  • Completely assemble, test and package product built on the line
  • Occasionally disassemble and repair products returned by customer
  • Set up moderate to semi-complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record assembly conformance to test specifications
  • Set up test stands with appropriate plumbing for pneumatic and hydrostatic tests from required product test specifications
  • Complete required test documentation including test reports
  • Inspect, understand, and document all materials, heat numbers, components, subassemblies, and specifications to assure they meet the accepted quality standards
  • Complete required inspection documentation, marking of heat numbers and nameplate Participate in Lean events with active involvement in CI initiatives
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed

Position Details:

  • Candidate must reside in: Houston TX, or surrounding area
  • Work week and shift: 5AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday; 5AM to 11AM, Saturdays and rare occasion Sunday work may be requested.
  • Assembly training will be provided for entry level candidates
  • New hire onboarding is provided with safety training, quality, and HR training
  • On the job training provided on processes, procedures, and product assembly
  • Immigration sponsorship is not provided for this position
  • Climate controlled warehouse, standing workstation, strenuous work often required
  • Uniforms provided by company upon regular employment
  • PPE required steel toe and puncture resistant shoes; all other PPE provided by the company

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • At least one year of related experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience in assembly, testing of oil and gas services products; automotive repair and maintenance, appliance repair or assembly, handheld electronic device repair or assembly
  • Must be able to read, speak and write in English, following verbal and written instructions and communicating information
  • Some experience using a computer
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Experience meeting safety standards and quality standards
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work quickly and accurately
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instruction

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in the assembly and testing of the following types of products: relief valves, chemical injection pumps, control/dump/check valves, butterfly valves, liquid level controllers/switches
  • Experience in oil and gas products with high mix and high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience with little direct supervision while operating alone and meeting expectations for quality and productivity
  • Experience with manufacturing line setups and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Experience in properly and safely operating some type of assembly and testing equipment
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, presses, assembly equipment and product test equipment

Physical Demands:

  • Minimal (up to 10%) daily time spent crouching, climbing stairs, stretching, using a keyboard, power hand tools, viewing a computer screen, dialing and driving a motorized lift.
  • Occasional (between 11% - 33%) daily time spent bending, pushing, pulling and walking.
  • Frequent (between 34% - 65%) daily time spent lifting/carrying between 10lbs up to 40lbs, reaching, twisting, writing and speaking.
  • Constant (66% and greater) daily time spent handling, holding, grasping, turning, working with hands or handling materials or tools, fingering, picking, pinching, fine manipulation, standing, seeing and hearing.

Production/Manufacturing Environment:

The job is performed under some temperature variations and some hazardous conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to typical manufacturing noises (grinders, forklift operation, compressed air circulation, and electric and pneumatic tool operation). The manufacturing personnel have easy access to restrooms, a breakroom, conference rooms and office areas. The manufacturing areas are climate controlled but may occasionally reach above-average temperatures.

The employee occasionally works near machinery fluids and material wastes. The working environment is clearly marked for hazards and safety/emergency facilities are noted. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Employees often encounter dust, dirt, grease, and paint on metal surfaces.
