About Us:

About the role:
Manages assigned Assembly departments to produce product for Assembly line, Working with KPI targets in Safety, Quality,Housekeeping, Training, On time starts and CSD. Manages the planning of manpower and production departments to achieve daily department production rates and achieve the company business plan for RTS. Oversee the introduction of new products into the Assembly facilities ensuring all key milestones and evaluations are met and reports progress to the Superintendent. Oversees facility plans/changes to accommodate NPI introductions and efficiency improvements,while working with with his/her team and the M.E group.
What you will do:
  • Plan, organize and direct the Operations Assembly Departments to attain business objectives and production schedules through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital. Provide direction and set goals to achieve KPI's in Safety, Quality, CSD, Training, Housekeeping, hours per unit and RTS targets.
  • Model MCFA core leadership competencies and coach the staff on doing the same. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement through training, employee recognition, etc. Spend time on the shop floor monitoring the process and flow, talking with employees to keep open communication at all levels. Encourage employees to be involved in BBS.
  • Work closely with the Capacity Planning and Material Planning Departments in order to achieve the daily/monthly production schedules in Fabrication Departments. Establish plans to achieve monthly business plans on forklift shipments while achieving committed ship dates to customers.
  • Implement optimal plans on a daily basis by managing trade-offs between available capacity, manpower, CSD, and material availability while managing overtime expenses. Mitigate capacity risks by managing bottlenecks and dependencies across Fabrication departments while working closely with scheduling. Closely Monitor quality issues and address as they arise.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to plan and implement new products, equipment and processes that allow MCFA to build high quality material handling equipment in the most cost efficient and cost effective manner possible. Develop and execute plans to reduce overall product/labor cost without having a negative impact on product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, enforce and follow escalation process. Advise Superintendent of barriers impeding you. Perform Random audits to track production on a daily basis. Open lines of communicate with second shift. Print and review trends with the supervisors, schedules, quality, review top 3 impeding problems within the different area's of your responsibility.

What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience may be substituted for the specific education requirement.
  • Strong background in production management, production planning and manufacturing engineering
  • 5 years managerial experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, planning abilities and problem solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and influence results through others.
  • Strong ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of Safety, Quality and Productivity, Cost and Employee Relations.
