Heavy Assembler
Location: 225 Talbot Boulevard, Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $18 to $20 per hour
The Dixon Group is looking for a Heavy Assembler to join our Dixon Specialty Products division in Chestertown, MD! We are looking for skilled professionals who will build and test industrial equipment that powers industries worldwide. At this location, you will be insulating, armoring, and testing small to large bore hoses. This is your chance to work with large-scale components, top-tier tools, and a company that invests in your growth and success-every step of the way. If you have welding experience- that's a strong plus!

What You'll Do:
  • Insulate, armor and test small and large bore hoses.
  • Assemble heavy machinery components according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete assembly tasks.
  • Perform quality checks on completed assemblies to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve assembly challenges.
  • Document assembly processes and report discrepancies or concerns to supervisors.
  • Prepare and package parts for shipment according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to learn.

Preferred:
  • Experience in assembly or manufacturing of heavy equipment.
  • Technical certification in a related field.
  • Welding experience is a strong plus - Entry level Mig & Tig welding.
  • Exposure to sandblasting, grinding wheels, paint booths.
