Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Entry-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer in Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC.
Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting the design team with preparation of roadway drainage and stormwater designs
  • Performing Hydrology and hydraulics design calculation and analyzing existing projects
  • Coordinating with multiple utility owners, MDOT, municipalities and regulatory agencies
  • Preparing or modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
  • Preparing design computations and quantity estimates
  • Assisting with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects
  • Some travel will be required

A valid driver's license will be required.
The successful candidate must have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university
  • EIT or ability to pass FE exam within six months of hire date
  • Transportation and/or hydrology and hydraulics related coursework

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software experience
  • Ability to read engineering plans, contours, and drafting
  • Previous civil engineering internship
  • Utility coordination and design experience
  • Municipal engineering design experience
