We are a commercial drywall contracting company looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Commercial Drywall Estimator to join our team.
We are willing to train the right person. If you have solid, hands-on experience in the drywall industry (field or office) and strong basic computer skills, we will teach you our specific digital estimating systems and takeoff software. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with field experience looking to transition into a career in pre-construction and project management, or for an entry-level estimator eager to sharpen their skills.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Learn Digital Estimating: Train with our team to master commercial takeoff software and digital estimation tools.
- Blueprint Reading: Review commercial architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and project specifications to understand the scope of work.
- Material & Labor Takeoffs: Measure and quantify materials (metal framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings) from digital plans.
- Bid Preparation: Help calculate accurate costs for labor, materials, and equipment to build competitive commercial bids.
- Supplier Coordination: Contact vendors and material suppliers to gather pricing quotes for upcoming bids.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project management to ensure an accurate hand-off from the bidding stage to the field.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Drywall Experience (Required): Hands-on experience working in the drywall industry (e.g., framing, hanging, finishing, or field supervision). You must understand how a commercial wall assembly goes together.
- Computer Literacy (Required): Proficient with basic computer tasks, including email, file management, and Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. You must be comfortable learning new software quickly.
- Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to learn the commercial estimating trade, take direction, and continuously improve.
- Detail-Oriented: Highly organized with a sharp eye for numbers and details to ensure nothing gets missed on a plan.
- Communication: Reliable written and verbal communication skills to interact with suppliers, general contractors, and the team.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 (Depending on drywall and computer experience)
