Job description

About Marvell

Marvell's semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

Marvell's Octeon and Armada infrastructure processors power a wide range of networking equipment, serving as the heartbeat of the network-from the edge to the core.
As a member of the Application Engineering Team in the Marvell MBG(Multimarket Business Group), you will:
- Reproduce customer issues in the lab environment.
- Investigate and experiment with potential solutions.
- Deliver timely, effective resolutions to support customer success.

What You Can Expect

As a Senior Application Engineer, you will:

  • Debug and resolve customer issues with guidance from experienced engineers.

  • Reproduce customer issues in a lab environment to investigate root causes.

  • Design and run experiments to develop solutions for both complex and simple issues.

  • Conduct tests, collect and analyze data, and document results.

  • Prepare clear technical reports and present findings and solutions directly to customers.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).

  • Coursework should include networking protocols, programming, and hands-on lab experience.

Technical Skills

  • Strong ability to create test plans and operate electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, lab instruments).

  • Experience collecting and analyzing lab data, and generating technical reports.

  • Proficiency in programming with C, Shell scripting, and Python in a Unix/Linux environment.

  • Hands-on development experience with embedded systems on ARM-based SoCs.

  • Knowledge and debugging experience with ATF, Secure Boot, U-Boot, UEFI, Linux kernel, Buildroot, kernel networking stack, and user-space data plane frameworks such as DPDK and VPP.

  • Direct experience with Marvell MBG (formerly CCS/IPBU) products, such as Armada and Octeon, is strongly preferred.

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • Strong problem-solving mindset with curiosity and initiative-able to investigate issues without predefined debugging flowcharts.

  • Effective communication skills: capable of explaining complex technical concepts and presenting findings to groups.

  • Enjoys learning across diverse technical areas and adapting to new challenges.

  • Prior customer-facing or technical support experience is a plus.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

94,160 - 141,000, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.

Additional Compensation and Benefit Elements

Marvell is committed to providing exceptional, comprehensive benefits that support our employees at every stage - from internship to retirement and through life's most important moments. Our offerings are built around four key pillars: financial well-being, family support, mental and physical health, and recognition. Highlights include an employee stock purchase plan with a 2-year look back, family support programs to help balance work and home life, robust mental health resources to prioritize emotional well-being, and a recognition and service awards to celebrate contributions and milestones. We look forward to sharing more with you during the interview process.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.
