About Your Role
Kickstart your engineering career with the Clover team! We are looking for an Associate Android Systems Engineer to help build, test, and operate the complex payment software running on our global fleet of smart terminals. If you are a recent graduate eager to dive deep into the Android operating system, work directly with hardware interfaces, and see your code process millions of real-world transactions daily, this is the perfect team for you. This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where your foundational skills will quickly scale into enterprise expertise.
What You'll Do
  • Feature Development: Learn to build and integrate features into our hardware products, including offline payment support, dynamic user experiences, and digital wallets.
  • System Integration: Assist in implementing solutions that connect Android apps, lower-level device components, and our cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting: Learn to triage bugs, isolate software glitches, and ensure our application code remains highly performant and secure.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with senior mentors, product managers, and testing teams to turn product specs into working software.
  • Continuous Learning: Expand your skills into embedded development, payment kernels, security protocols, and secure deployment pipelines.

Experience You'll Need to Have
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Foundational Core: A rock-solid understanding of fundamental software engineering concepts, specifically Data Structures, algorithms, and Object-Oriented Design.
  • Programming Skills: Classroom, lab, or personal project experience writing code in Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Android Basics: Basic familiarity with the Android ecosystem, core app lifecycles, and user interface layouts through coursework or independent applications.
  • Source Control: Basic working knowledge of Git (cloning, branching, merging).
  • Communication: Excellent teamwork, critical thinking, and a hunger to learn from senior engineers.

Experience That Would Be Great to Have
  • AI-Augmented Development: Familiarity or curiosity regarding generative AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLM prompting tools) to streamline test generation and accelerate your coding workflow.
  • Hands-on Projects: Any published Android applications, open-source contributions, or school-based AI, robotics, or hardware-interfacing projects.
  • Low-Level Exposure: Exposure to C/C++, basic Linux environments, or operating system kernels during your university curriculum.

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Salary Range
$140,000.00 - $210,000.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in Sunnyvale, California. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
