Illume Fertility (formerly RMA of CT) specializes in the treatment of infertility, including assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like intrauterine insemination (IUI), in-vitro fertilization (IVF), and pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT). Illume Fertility is Fairfield County’s largest fertility clinic and egg donation center and is led by eight board-certified reproductive endocrinologists. Illume Fertility is consistently recognized as an LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader and its Integrated Fertility & Wellness program offers holistic support via acupuncture, mental health counseling, support groups and nutritional counseling. lllume Fertility has 5 convenient locations in Norwalk, Danbury, Stamford and Trumbull, CT and Harrison, NY.

Position Overview:

This is a learning position to develop professional skill and gain experience in the clinical IVF laboratory with the goal of achieving proficiency in the performance of embryology procedures in accordance with RMA of CT protocol manuals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team to provide good patient care, while meeting the objectives and goals of the practice.
  • Acts as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments to disseminate information and communicate areas for continual quality improvement.
  • Performs andrology duties as assigned by the supervisor or director as needed.
  • Undertakes/performs a fair distribution/share of procedures and is proactive of helping others.
  • Attends practice and department meetings as requested.
  • Assists the financial/billing department in assuring appropriate and timely billing for testing services.
  • Strictly follows all safety rules and regulations including sharpies, blood borne pathogens, biological safety and exposure control plans.
  • Adheres to all laboratory rules and regulations including conduct, dos and don’ts and appropriate behavior.
  • Demonstrates consideration for colleagues by maintaining a quiet, professional environment in the embryology laboratory.
  • Respects patients.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and integrity of patient medical and private information.
  • Participates in laboratory proficiency testing programs as directed by laboratory supervisor/director.
  • Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies at acceptable levels for all laboratory areas.
  • Organizes and maintains accurate records, including patients’ test reports.
  • Keeps all lab equipment, supplies and facilities clean and well organized at all times.
  • Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills in spreadsheets, word processing, database development, e-mail, Internet access, computer networks, and intra-office communications.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or the biological sciences from an accredited university.
  • Copies of degrees, transcripts, and references for personnel files.
  • Adequate computer skills. Intermediate to advanced knowledge in ARTworks, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, outlook and PowerPoint. Understanding of the Internet is necessary.
  • Previous human or animal IVF experience is not required. This is an entry-level position for a candidate looking to gain human IVF experience.
