Job description

Ravenscroft School is seeking an Alumni Engagement Officer to join the Advancement Team and lead the school's alumni relations program. This full-time position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with alumni, organizing events and activities that engage alumni, and promoting the school to its alumni community.
This role is ideal for a relationship-driven, organized professional who is excited to lead alumni programming and strategy while also supporting broader engagement activities across development, community, and parent groups.
REPORTS TO: Director of Development
What You'll Do:
  • Lead, support, and manage the Ravenscroft Alumni Council, including coordinating and facilitating the monthly Alumni Council Executive Team meeting and a bi-monthly meeting for the full, nationwide Alumni Council
  • Develop, refine, and implement a strategic plan for alumni relations based on the principles of the Alumni Strategic Design, including setting goals and identifying key areas of focus
  • Maintain and manage the school's alumni database to ensure it is up-to-date and accurate
  • Proactively engage and build meaningful relationships with the alumni community through consistent outreach, keeping members informed and connected to school updates and initiatives
  • Enlist class agents and maintain a regular cadence of contact to foster engagement and connection with the alumni base
  • Lead the student-to-alumni transition by onboarding each graduating class into the alumni database before graduation
  • Manage alumni communications, including monthly Notes From the Nest newsletters, social media posts, and class notes produced in collaboration with class agents
  • Coordinate alumni events and activities, including identifying target groups, driving attendance, and managing RSVP tracking, with full program execution for events such as Alumni Weekend and Reunion, Ravens on the Road gatherings, Alumni Coffee Breaks, Young Alumni Social, and the Annual Care Package Party
  • Help identify potential donors among the alumni community through events, engagement, and outreach, and share that information with the Director of Development
  • Identify opportunities to involve alumni in ongoing community events beyond traditional alumni-centered programs

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Deep understanding of alumni relations best practices
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings or weekends to support Alumni and Development team programming
  • Commitment to working in a diverse, inclusive, and mission-aligned school community

Preferred:
  • Experience working in alumni relations, development, or a related advancement function
  • Experience in a K-12 or independent school environment
  • Experience with donor or alumni database management systems
  • Experience with event planning and volunteer or council management

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This role is based on Ravenscroft's campus and includes regular collaboration with alumni, volunteers, and colleagues across the Advancement Team. The position requires the ability to move throughout campus and travel to off-site event locations, assist with event setup and breakdown (including light lifting up to 20 pounds), and use technology and databases regularly. Some evening and weekend work is required to support Alumni and Development team programming. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
