Lunar Outpost is dedicated to creating a permanent presence in space, while also driving positive impacts here on Earth.We are currentlyseekingaSenior TestSystems Engineerto contribute to our mission in a dynamic startup environment.AsaSenior TestSystems Engineerfor the Lunar Terrain VehicleServices(LTVS) program,you will be responsible forsupporting the Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T)team in planningand executingtest and qualification campaigns,facilitating development, execution, and reporting ofIntegrated Product Teams (IPT)testing, anddeveloping and operatingvarious vehicle testbed and prototype platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developtest requirements andplans in coordination withIPTs
  • Support IPT generation of test reports
  • Planand executecomponent, subassembly, andsubsystem qualification campaigns
  • Lead efforts todesign, build, and testdedicated vehicle test platforms andprototypes
  • Lead development ofqualification and test campaign schedulesin accordance withthe AI&T Planand execute campaigns on schedule to drive program progress
  • Write test proceduresand processesto support qualification at thecomponent, subsystem, and vehicle level
  • Provide expert inputsto programschedules and budgets as well as regular status of campaign execution


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or relateddiscipline
  • 4-8 years ofexperience in developing and executingtestand qualificationcampaigns for NASA ClassA and/or human-rated vehicles
  • Demonstrated experience leading and executing engineering test efforts to support requirement verification and validation
  • Familiarity with NASA standards forAI&Tthat covertesting, qualification, workmanship, etc. (i.e.SMC-S-016,NASA-STD-8739)
  • Clear understanding of NASA verification and validation processes
  • Strong test documentation writing skills, such as test plans, procedures, reports, etc.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering processes and best practices
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Project
  • Self-motivated, focused, and driven to meet criticaldeadlines
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to executecross-disciplinary engineeringfrom a systems perspective,in areassuch as Mechanical, Electrical, Software, etc.
  • Familiarity withexecuting human hazard assessments to support NASA Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)
  • Experience testing and/or qualifyingvehicle mobility systems, such as suspensions, drivetrains, wheels/tires, etc.
  • Experience withdesigning and buildingunique test support equipment, such as offload rigs, mechanism actuators,structure mockups, etc.
  • Familiarity with Python scripting
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite (JIRA/Confluence), JAMAforrequirement generation andtracking
