Cleveland, OH

Job description

That is a crucial clarification, and it completely changes the strategy. In the $45,000 to $60,000 salary range, you cannot hire a software engineer to code custom machine learning algorithms from scratch-and for most regional construction firms, you don't actually need one. At this price point, we are shifting the target from an AI Software Architect to an Entry-Level AI Implementer & Data Coordinator. You are looking for a tech-savvy recent graduate or junior analyst-a "power user" who will take existing, off-the-shelf AI software (like Togal.AI, Document Crunch, Bluebeam AI, and advanced ChatGPT/Claude prompting) and do the digital legwork to make your estimating operations 5x faster. Here is how the expectations change at this budget, followed by a completely rewritten job description designed to attract hungry, ambitious entry-level tech talent in Cleveland. How the Strategy Changes for $45k-$60k Attribute Previous Strategy ($115k+) New Strategy ($45k-$60k)

Candidate Profile Experienced Data Scientist / ML Engineer Recent College Grad, Junior IT, or Tech-Savvy Career Changer

Technical Focus Coding custom AI models & RAG pipelines from scratch Mastering off-the-shelf AI construction tools & advanced prompting

Data Role Architecting vector databases and cloud pipelines Organizing Excel sheets, cleaning historical bids, & manual data entry/export

Job Title: Entry-Level AI & Preconstruction Technology Coordinator Location: Cleveland, OH (100% On-Site) Department: Executive / Preconstruction Reports To: President & Owner Employment Type: Full-Time Compensation: $45,000 - $60,000 (commensurate with skills and aptitude) About the Role We are looking for an ambitious, tech-savvy AI & Preconstruction Technology Coordinator to help us modernize our commercial construction estimating operations. No prior construction experience is required. If you are fascinated by artificial intelligence, data organization, and new software tools, we will teach you the business of commercial construction from the ground up. Working 100% on-site at our Cleveland headquarters, you will report directly to the President & Owner. This is an exceptional launchpad for a junior professional who wants to bypass corporate bureaucracy and work hand-in-hand with executive leadership. You will act as our internal "tech pilot"-learning, testing, and running cutting-edge AI construction software to help our estimating team automate quantity takeoffs, analyze project specifications, and organize decades of historical cost data. What You Will Do 1. Operate AI Estimating Software

  • Automate Takeoffs: Learn and operate industry-leading AI takeoff software (such as Togal.AI, Bluebeam Revu, or Kreo) to rapidly generate initial 2D measurements and square footage counts from architectural blueprints.
  • Specification Analysis: Use large language model (LLM) tools and specialized software (like Document Crunch or ChatGPT Enterprise) to scan massive 500-page project specification books, searching for key terms, risks, insurance requirements, and unusual exclusions.
  • Software Champion: Act as the internal go-to expert for all preconstruction software, troubleshooting day-to-day issues and helping traditional estimators utilize new digital tools. 2. Data Cleanup & Organization
  • Build Cost Spreadsheets: Take historical project bids, subcontractor quotes, and paper notes, and input them into clean, standardized Excel spreadsheets or internal databases.
  • Track Local Pricing: Maintain a running digital ledger of Northeast Ohio regional material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing trends to help the team bid more accurately.
  • File Management: Organize digital blueprint files, addenda, and RFIs (Requests for Information) within our project management software (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or network drives) so the estimating team has instant access to clean data. 3. Direct Support to the Owner & Estimating Team
  • Shadow Senior Estimators: Sit alongside veteran construction professionals to learn how buildings are priced, assembled, and won in the competitive Cleveland market.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously look for simple ways to save time using technology-whether that means writing an Excel macro, creating a better email template for subcontractor outreach, or automating a reporting workflow. What You Bring to the Team Required Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Construction Management, or general studies (or equivalent self-taught technical aptitude / bootcamp completion).
  • Experience: 0-2 years of professional ex
