Job description

The Consumer Compliance Analyst I supports the Credit Union's efforts to operate in compliance with federal and state consumer financial protection laws, regulations, and internal policies. This entry-level position assists in compliance monitoring, documentation, and training initiatives under the guidance of more senior compliance analysts. The Analyst I gains hands-on experience in compliance program functions, contributes to audits, and supports the implementation of regulatory changes across business lines.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in conducting routine, risk-based consumer compliance audits, including testing, documentation of evidence and basic findings.
  • Draft simple compliance reports for review by senior analysts and management.
  • Support the implementation of new or updated regulatory rules by distributing communications and helping to update procedures.
  • Participate in the review and maintenance of internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Help coordinate and track compliance training sessions for staff, in partnership with the Training Department.
  • Assist with the organization of compliance documentation and examination materials.
  • Collect and input data for compliance monitoring and trend analysis under supervision.
  • Promote a positive culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or senior compliance staff.

  • Use basic data collection methods to support compliance monitoring efforts.
  • Assist with maintaining records related to AI and technology use in compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Learn about responsible data processing, privacy, and security practices as part of compliance activities.
  • Stay informed of new developments in regulatory technology (RegTech) as directed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related field strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in consumer compliance, auditing, regulatory affairs, or a related area preferred.
  • Knowledge of MS-Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Interest in obtaining Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), or similar certification over time.
  • Basic knowledge of federal consumer financial laws and regulations (such as ECOA, TILA, HMDA, FCRA, UDAAP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with GRC platforms or data analytics tools a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and interpret complex regulations with support from more senior staff.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.

  • Complete assigned tasks and regulatory reviews in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by the Credit Union.

  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (e.g., typing, filing, sorting).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds of supplies as needed.
  • Use repetitive motion with wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier).
