Would you like to be responsible for making sure the LEGO automated manufacturing lines are running while ensuring the optimal levels of reliability and product excellence?
Job Description
The Automation Engineer will ensure that the LEGO Production team meets the reliability requirements of the company and product quality through maintaining equipment (preventative, predictive, corrective maintenance). Will be responsible for guiding the automation in the production area and managing electronic and machine controls from a high level. Duties will include the following:
  • Ensure that the LEGO Production team meets the reliability requirements of the company and product quality through maintaining the automation of the equipment (preventative, predictive, corrective maintenance).
  • Establish detailed maintenance of work instructions and technical documentations by working with internal network and equipment suppliers for automation technicians.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and investigations on PLC equipment failures that significantly affect product quality, equipment up time, and packing capacity.
  • Deep understanding of technical detail platforms/management system in PLC programming, wiring, HMI, and Operational Technology.
  • Provide expertise in spare parts management-engagement in technical specification confirmation, substitution recommendation regarding automation spare parts.
  • Expert in Automation of packing equipment - high level knowledge in electronic and machine control.
  • Oversee improvement projects related to logical operation of software.
  • Mapping and standardizing the critical parameters of software equipment with guidance from global OT team.
  • Develop a standardized approach for robots, programming standards, safety protocols, operator interface, following standard and global implementations.
  • Validate and install new automation applications for packaging processes.

You will lead, maintain and improve the main control system of our machines to include software (PLCs, Smart Devices that require to be programmed. Will develop and update processes in the factory. Will be the control system expert for operating equipment such as machinery, process in factories and data acquisition for remote monitoring control. Will handle continuous improvement, project management of new machinery and in support of production.
Do you have what it takes?
  • Electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, automation engineering or similar Bachelors of Science (BS) degree preferred.
  • Proven work experience in maintenance, engineering, or automation area.
  • Microsoft Office Proficient
  • Machine Safety Knowledge and/or experience.
  • Ability to read to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • High level of analytical skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Weekend and off shift working hours may be required during implementation phases
  • Practice in active use of Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and quality tools
  • Wiring, HMI, and PLC (Allen Bradley & Siemens) knowledge and experience
  • Programming and OT knowledge and experience
  • Experience in the following one or more of the following: Automation, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Electric and electronic diagrams, Mechanical diagrams, robotics
  • Ladder Logic Programming skills
  • Rockwell Automation knowledge (RSLogix 5000, RSLinx, Factory Talk View Studio).

Compensation
The salary for this position has a range of $84,674.00 - $127,010.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
