Red Cedar Construction Services is seeking a highly capable and detail oriented StaffAccountant to join our finance and accounting team. This is not an entry-level accounting role. The ideal candidate will be a strong, self sufficient accountant who can take ownership of key accounting functions, support month-end close, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, assist with financial reporting, and help improve accounting processes across a fast-growing construction and real estate development environment.


This position will gain exposure to several areas of the business, including construction accounting, real estate development, partnership accounting, debt management, project cost accounting, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and daily accounting operations. The Staff Accountant will play an important role in ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, organized, and useful to management.


We are looking for someone who is proactive, analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple entities and evolving processes. The ideal candidate is not only strong in accounting fundamentals but also interested in improving systems, streamlining workflows, and identifying better ways to complete recurring accounting tasks. Experience using AI tools, automation, or technology to improve accounting processes is a plus.

  • Completebalancesheetreconciliationsandresearchdiscrepanciestoensureaccuracyandcompleteness.
  • Prepareandpostjournalentries,includingentriesrelatedtorealestatetransactions,HUDstatements,accruals,prepaids,debtactivity,intercompanytransactions,andotherrecurringaccountingitems.
  • ReviewKPIs,financialreports,andaccountingschedulesforcompleteness,accuracy,andcompliance.
  • Supportprojectcostaccountingandjob-relatedreportingacrossconstructionanddevelopmentprojects.
  • Assistwithbankreconciliations,creditcardreconciliations,anddailyaccountingtransactionreview.
