Job description

Summary
The Flight Operations Performance Engineer supports the development of performance data, maintenance of weight and balance (W&B) and performance systems, weight and balance activities, fuel efficiency initiatives, and aircraft performance analysis. The role works under the guidance of senior engineers to develop technical knowledge in aircraft performance and operations.

Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree
Education Details:  Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field. 
Years of Experience:  Minimum one (1) year of experience in a related field (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply).

Valid/Unexpired Passport Book: No

Valid/Unexpired Driver's License: No

•    Familiarity with computer programming (Python and Visual Basic are preferred).
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
•    Willingness to participate in structured training and the development of flight operations engineering skills.
•    Interest in data analysis and automation tools.
•    Exposure to aircraft performance, aerodynamics, or flight mechanics through coursework, internships, or work experience.

Preferred Requirements
•    A pilot's license. 
•    Understanding of 14 CFR Parts 25 & 121 Aircraft Performance Limitations and Requirements. 

Job Duties
•    Support development and maintenance of performance data, weight and balance data, and associated systems.
•    Assist in the review and update of Flight Operations manuals and procedures.
•    Support interactions with flight crew to identify ways to improve company procedures.
•    Support Maintenance and Flight Operations teams in weight and balance tasks.
•    Use computer-based tools to analyze aircraft performance for all phases of flight.
•    Assist in the implementation of fuel efficiency measures.
•    Support the improvement and maintenance of flight planning systems and processes.
•    Model Allegiant's customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
