Job description

IT Technician
  • Daily Duties: Perform tasks related to the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems and networks. Ensure technology infrastructure runs smoothly
  • Assist users in resetting passwords, installing updates, printers, and programs in addition to guiding users in the use of the IT assets they are assigned to use.
  • Develop and deliver entry level and intermediate training for the optimal use of the programs and equipment falling under the scope of the IT department. For example, Excel, Build-Ops, Accubid and similar programs.
  • Maintain and issue out cellular devices that the company deems necessary for the daily operation of the business, including mobile computing platforms such as service tablets issued to techs in the field.
  • Assist IT Director in installing physical and virtual machines on the network. Rebooting servers as needed or directed.
  • Adding and deleting users in active directory as well as maintaining an accurate inventory database by adding, deleting, deploying, and recalling assets as needed or directed.
  • Loading images on equipment and delivering this to the end users in the office or at jobsites.
  • Set up hardware and install and configure software and drivers
  • Maintain and repair technological equipment (e.g. routers) or peripheral devices
  • Install well-functioning LAN/WAN and other networks and manage components (servers, IPs, etc.)
  • Manage security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection from attacks
  • Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems remain updated

Skills Required
  • Basic understanding of IT principles, problem-solving mindset, and excellent communication skills. A problem-solving mindset is crucial for resolving hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Working knowledge of user management and security concepts*.
  • Stellar communication skills utilizing emotional intelligence in serving internal and external customers.
  • Strong organizational record-keeping abilities and possess the ability to develop and deliver training as well as becoming a subject mater expert in use of IT equipment

Qualifications
  • Work Environment: Office setting with potential for remote work, reporting to an IT manager with the ability to drive to outer offices and construction job sites to deliver training and/or equipment including set up and removal as needed.
  • May be required to wear safety equipment including but not limited to a helmet, eye protection, safety boots and vests.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft environment
  • Willingness to pursue industry certifications as they relate to business operations as well as attending classes and seminars
