About the Position: Responsibilities may include:1. Reviewing and processing MPC applications, payments, or other documents and information to verify accuracy and/or correct errors.2. Manually processing MPC payments and certificates.3. Assisting taxpayers with payments, returns, applications and general Sales tax/MPC information.4. Reviewing reports for discrepancies5. Processing sales tax refund requests.6. Performing entry level clerical accounting functions7. Providing support as an administrative assistant8. Answering calls in a polite and professional manner to assist customers.9. Other tasks as assigned.
What you'll need to be Successful: The ability to learn the complexities of tax administration as indicated by the task, by making wise, informed decisions and correctly executing tax policies and procedures which promote taxpayer compliance and tax revenue collection in accordance with the State's tax statutes. Be proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer software. Ability to communicate with taxpayers and tax professionals in verbal and written form.
