We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Audit Associate to join our growing CPA firm. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base across multiple industries while gaining exposure to audit, review, compilation, tax, and advisory engagements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and audit procedures, along with excellent analytical and client service skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform audit, review, and compilation engagements for privately held companies, nonprofit organizations, and other client entities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and evaluate internal controls.
  • Prepare and review audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze financial statements and identify accounting or reporting issues.
  • Assist in planning, fieldwork, testing, and completion of assurance engagements.
  • Ensure engagements are completed in accordance with GAAP, GAAS, and firm standards.
  • Prepare financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist clients with accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting needs.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries and month-end/year-end account reconciliations.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of accounting processes and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience within a CPA firm performing audit and accounting services.
  • CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of: Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Financial statement preparation and analysis, internal controls and audit testing procedures
  • Experience using accounting and audit software platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
