POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the general direction of the Quality Manager the qualified candidate will be responsible for performing analytical, chemical, and physical tests required for quality control of raw materials, in process materials, and finished goods. Participates in investigations and studies to determine cause, effect and corrective actions required to resolve deviation from quality standards. routine sampling and inspection of material. The employee will adhere to safety procedures, ensure a safe work environment, meet and/or exceed product quality expectations, and assist in achieving process reliability goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform analytical testing & record, maintain, and review results/data into SAP System

• Using a variety of test methods, procedures, and instrumentation

• Required to calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed

• Initiate & document Quality Notifications/DMRs/DMAs, including participating in cross functional root cause analysis. Facilitate follow up & resolutions

• Interpreting data and for giving direction to the manufacturing group to ensure products meet established specifications.

• Prepare samples of raw materials, intermediates, and/or finished goods to be sent out for outside testing. Including environmental testing

• Perform COA verification and raw material sampling

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• HS diploma of GED

• Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience (manufacturing experience is acceptable).

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).

• Knowledge of PC software and data entry experience

• Ability to work well under pressure, while maintaining multiple priorities; able to work with minimal supervision. 

• Color Vision (ability to detect color) required. This is due to the need to compare color difference in product on daily basis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-year college degree in science (food science, chemistry etc) or a 2 year science diploma and 2 years relevant technical experience or Five years relevant technical experience.

• Experience working in food manufacturing

• Working knowledge of statistics preferred.
