Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience Expected starting hourly salary $24.40 to $32.59. Full salary range $24.40 to $40.77. Associate's degree from an accredited college in accounting or closely related field

OR A combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions. Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.

Nature of Work Under supervision, codes, posts, records, and reconciles financial records and accounts. Processes accounts payable and cash receipting. Assists with periodic financial and statistical reporting and budgeting.

Identifies process improvements, collaborates with others, and provides excellent customer service. Mentors, trains, and assists other staff. Is a resource in resolving accounts payable and cash receipting issues.

Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace. Examples of Work Performs accounts payable tasks, cash receipting, journal entries and/or duties related to these functions; responds to customer or vendor inquiry and corrects problems. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

Processes and/or audits complex accounts payables. Maintains and reconciles accounting records and accounts. Performs cash handling and bank related tasks.

Maintains records of accounting transactions such as scanning documents, distributing mail and maintaining files. Assists in preparing financial reports. Verifies completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of data, and resolves issues.

Assists other staff with day-to-day accounting related work. Works with interfaced automated systems with general ledger and other systems. Performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Skill in the use of basic business math.

Skill in the use of computers and technology. Skill in the use of standard office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to effectively organize and prioritize duties. Ability to perform work rapidly and accurately, with attention to detail. Ability to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to resolve customer/vendor complaints effectively and answer questions completely. Ability to read and understand basic financial reports.

Ability to document procedures. Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions. Ability to use critical thinking to solve problems.
