Job description

Job Summary:
Dallas IVF is seeking a full time, highly skilled Embryologist to join our assisted reproductive technology laboratory team. This position operates under CLIA standards and supports high-complexity laboratory services in accordance with CMS and Department of Health and Human Services regulations. The Embryologist is responsible for performing advanced reproductive laboratory procedures, supporting patient care through IVF and andrology services, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform core embryology and andrology procedures including oocyte identification and grading, sperm preparation, insemination, and fertilization assessment
  • Conduct embryo culture, monitoring, evaluation, and preparation for transfer
  • Perform cryopreservation and thawing of embryos and gametes
  • Execute intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in accordance with departmental quality standards (โ‰ฅ80% normal fertilization, โ‰ค5% degeneration)
  • Perform assisted hatching following established protocols
  • Conduct semen analysis and sperm preparation for IVF and intrauterine insemination
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot specimen collection and processing issues
  • Support blastocyst culture, embryo development assessment, and related ART procedures
  • Assist with oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer procedures in coordination with clinical teams
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all laboratory procedures and communications
  • Ensure compliance with SART reporting requirements and assist with data submission
  • Support research activities, manuscript preparation, and scientific presentations as needed
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, statistical data collection, and laboratory audits
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure proper ordering and stock management
  • Perform routine quality control, instrument maintenance, and semi-annual calibrations
  • Identify and respond to safety hazards, equipment alarms, and emergency situations per protocol
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety standards, and emergency preparedness procedures
  • Ensure patient identification and verification using two identifiers in compliance with laboratory protocols
  • Support training and mentoring of new employees and laboratory staff
  • Serve as a resource for physicians, staff, and patients regarding embryology and laboratory processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science required

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience required
  • Experience in sterile laboratory procedures required
  • Experience in human or animal assisted reproduction laboratory preferred, including IVF

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of reproductive physiology and embryology
  • Proficiency in IVF laboratory techniquesย 
  • Strong attention to detail and laboratory documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to strict protocols and regulatory standards
